Job site connectivity

Reliable internet for job sites and trailers

Field teams need the same access as the office: drawings, Procore, email and video calls, from a trailer that will only be there for the length of the job. We set up internet, Wi-Fi and backup connections for construction sites across New York City, and keep the devices in the field secure.

The problem

Why job site connectivity is hard

Temporary locations, changing crews and devices that leave the site every night make field connectivity different from an office network.

  • The trailer internet is a consumer plan that drops whenever too many people are on it.
  • A new site waits weeks for a wired line to be installed.
  • Drawings and models take too long to download on the tablets in the field.
  • There is no backup when the main connection goes down during a pour or an inspection.
  • Tablets and phones carry project data with no passcode policy and no way to wipe them if lost.
  • Every site is set up differently, so moving equipment to the next job means starting over.
What we manage

What we handle

Connectivity and devices for the field, set up to move with you from one job to the next.

Site internet

The right connection for each site: wired where it is available, cellular or satellite where it is not, sized for how many people are working there.

Cellular backup

A second connection that takes over automatically when the primary one drops, so the trailer stays online.

Trailer Wi-Fi

Business-grade wireless that covers the trailer and nearby work areas, kept separate from any guest or subcontractor access.

Field devices

Tablets and phones set up with the apps your crews use, a passcode policy, and the ability to wipe them remotely if they are lost.

Secure remote access

Safe access to office files and systems from the field, without leaving the network open to anyone who finds the Wi-Fi.

Reusable site kits

A standard equipment kit that moves from job to job, so each new site is set up the same way.

How it works

How we set up a site

Every site is different, so we plan around its location, length and crew size.

  1. Step 01

    Survey

We check what connections are available at the address, how long the site will run, and how many people and devices will use it.

  2. Step 02

    Plan

We choose a primary connection and a backup, and specify the equipment for the trailer and work areas.

  3. Step 03

    Install

We set up the connection, Wi-Fi and security, and get field devices configured before the crew needs them.

  4. Step 04

    Move on

When the job ends, we reset and collect the equipment, and redeploy it to the next site.

Who it's for

Who this is for

Contractors and design-build firms with teams working on site.

A strong fit if:

  • You run one or more active job sites with a trailer
  • Field staff rely on tablets for drawings and Procore
  • Site internet drops at the worst possible times
  • You open new sites regularly
  • Nobody manages the phones and tablets in the field

What you won't have to worry about:

  • Arranging internet for every new site
  • The trailer going offline mid-inspection
  • Lost tablets carrying project data
  • Reconfiguring equipment for each job
  • Explaining to the office why the field cannot open a file
The ELMIDA difference

Why ELMIDA

We treat the job site as part of your network, not an afterthought.

01

Office and field together

The same provider manages your office network and your job sites, so access, security and support work the same way everywhere.

02

Backup built in

Every site gets a second connection, so one outage does not stop the field from working.

03

Honest about the city

Satellite internet needs a clear view of the sky, which is hard to find between Manhattan high-rises. We will tell you when cellular is the better choice.

04

Secure devices

Tablets and phones are managed centrally, with the ability to wipe them if they go missing.

05

Repeatable setups

A standard kit and configuration means each new site takes less time and has fewer surprises.

06

UniFi networking

We typically build site networks on Ubiquiti UniFi equipment, which can be managed and monitored remotely across every location.
